Spring is the perfect time to witness the forest waking up! Join us on the trail as Mississippi’s native trees fill back in with leaves, wildflowers emerge, and wildlife grows more active.

Your guides, Harry Babb (Habitat Harry) and Shea Staten (Natural Resources Specialist Ranger with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers at Sardis), will help participants get a closer look at:

  • Ephemeral wildflowers – blooms that carpet the forest floor for just a few weeks each spring
  • Native trees budding and blooming and the wildlife that rely on them
  • Early nesters, returning migrants, and the animals that depend on this season’s burst of growth

Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or just stepping onto the trail for the first time, spring offers an exciting window into the forest coming back to life.

BONUS: Take home free native trees to plant in your yard!
